A Dream

The water was a chrystaline blue, clear and cool, with the sun shining all around and above us. We were young, and there was a sense of innocence in the ways we looked and expressed ourselves. Laughter, love, and warmth surrounded us as surely as the light and water as we played, running and splashing without fear of judgment or loss. Some of us were fat, some of us were intersex, some of us lacked the language to describe what we were, and all of us were free. There was no sense of inward or outward judgment that could jeopardize what we were or what we had in that moment, in that place. We were safe. We were delighted in unquestioningly by ourselves and one another. We were love.
